Business as usual at St. Andrew’s
Date published: 16 August 2010
St Andrew’s Methodist and United Reformed Church on Smith Street, Rochdale, is open as normal despite suffering a considerable amount of damage over the last week.
Many of the church’s windows were broken in one night.
Jan Hicks the church’s secretary said: “In spite of the fact that the building looks closed because the windows have had to be boarded up, and will remain so for a few weeks until we can get the windows replaced, it certainly is not closed but is open for business as usual.”
St Andrews will continue to hold Sunday services, and is still available to all the community groups that use the building throughout the week.
The Jumble Sale and Coffee Morning planned for Tuesday 24 August at 10am, will still go ahead.
